"butterflies caught in the rain"

Hey Lovable Freaks!

Yes yes I am a bad blogger but so much has happened that I haven't really had time to update this blog.

First up, I entered the RAW Arts Awards, I didn't win anything but it got my name out there yet again. The piece that was featured is called "the girl whom could not smile" another Oil on Canvas; and believe it or not this girl has a face hehe.  Even though the RAW Exhibition at Dudley House is no longer up, my work along with several others from RAW got put up in Allan's Walk until the 20th this month, so wander down there and check my new lil one out.

Secondly, I have so far this year managed to score two A's in my Painting and Drawing class, I just hope that I can keep it up =).

And Finally, I have decided to sell some old pieces of work starting with the piece below!

That is all for now, but will try to be a better blogger next time!

RAW arts Award

Last night at Dudley House my new girl was introduced at the RAW Arts Award, She is the "girl whom could not smile".
I will load a photo of her after the exhibition has concluded on Monday.

The Exhibition will be open until next Monday the 18th between 10am-4pm daily. I will be sitting the Gallery 12-2pm on Sunday so feel free to drop in and say G'day.

It was an interesting experience and I am unsure as to whether I will be entering again next year, but it is a whole year away and that is plenty of time to think of something new.

That is all for today,

Tolerance from your favourite freak,

Let me introduce myself...

I am a local Artist and the button women are my signature.

I began the Button-face girls in 2010 in my last year of my Diploma of Visual arts, my Painting teacher was Janet Goodchild-Cuffley. Along with Janet, Linda Perry helped me develop this idea into what it is. However, there is still some refinement that I am going through.

The Button-faces are all about the identity of young women in a contemporary society, in particular, a commentation of my own experiences and my own identity.
What influence the Buttons came from my Mother being a Dressmaker. The scenery that they are featured in are in relation to me, to my interests and observations of certain situations.

Even though I deal with different ideas my core idea is the button girls.

My mediums are: Oils, Acrylics, Gouache, Graphite, Charcoal, Ink, Photography, Performance.
