I began the Button-face girls in 2010 in my last year of my Diploma of Visual arts, my Painting teacher was Janet Goodchild-Cuffley. Along with Janet, Linda Perry helped me develop this idea into what it is. However, there is still some refinement that I am going through.
The Button-faces are all about the identity of young women in a contemporary society, in particular, a commentation of my own experiences and my own identity.
What influence the Buttons came from my Mother being a Dressmaker. The scenery that they are featured in are in relation to me, to my interests and observations of certain situations.
Even though I deal with different ideas my core idea is the button girls.
My mediums are: Oils, Acrylics, Gouache, Graphite, Charcoal, Ink, Photography, Performance.
